Lorna's lived and worked in Stettler most of her life. Married for 43 years, she and her husband Allen raised one daughter and have close family and community ties here.
Lorna worked as an Oil & Gas Accountant for Gulf Canada for 11 years, leaving to start a family in 1986. The oil and gas industry was not an option when the time came to return to work so she went back to school and subsequently worked with Alberta Health Services in health care for 27 years. Retiring in May 2022 from her position as Provincial Manager, Health Information/Data Integrity, Lorna sought out volunteer options and was happy to find the Stettler Hospice Society welcoming new members. She's also on the board of the Red Deer Lettering Arts Guild and is trying to find all the free time retirement was supposed to provide.
In the meantime, she finds working with the Hospice Society very rewarding. "It's an important option to have in our community."
