Nancy Bauman, Co-Founder and Director -Community Liaison

Nancy currently works as an office administrator and is also a passionate, certified Reflexology technician. Nancy and her husband Murray, reside on a farm near Erskine. They were extremely busy raising 3 children, chasing them around with hockey, 4-H, softball, motocross races and freestyle motocross events. Now, they have 3 very precious grandchildren which keep them hopping. In the past, Nancy has been very involved coaching softball, managing hockey teams, and volunteering at school functions, as well as various fundraising events in the community. She is also a member of the Union Hall Ladies Club.

Nancy is very active and enjoys horse riding, camping, biking and most outdoor activities. Yes, even in the winter! After her father, Vern Raho, passed away in Mar 2011, she has hoped for a Hospice to be set up in Stettler. Along with her family, friends and the generous support of the Stettler and area communities, she raised over $23,000 for a palliative care bed for the SHC, by biking 212 km from Fernie, BC to Longview, AB. Her passion is caring for others and she would like to see a more compassionate “home like” setting for those during their end of life journey! Her dream has come true, as she is co-founder of the Stettler Hospice Society and is very excited for the families who will benefit from the Hospice in the future.

Nancy has recently been appointed our Community Liaison Officer, and as a result will very capably be educating the Stettler and District community about "all things hospice", and how this dream she envisioned, which is now so close to becoming a reality, will benefit all of us.
